In a beautiful Greystone located doors from the impeccable King Drive, sits this sweet onion of a sale.

Ms Lewis, migrated to Chicago and quickly found a job in her teens at Western Electric. There she worked through every takeover, downsize and early retirement phase of this company. Any true Chicagoan remember all the company names? Western Electric, Illinois Bell, Ameritech, SBC Global, AT&T. After work Ms Lewis was a Seamstress. See that brown and white tweed coat in the photos? Yuppers! She was designer, Seamstress & Crafter, who loved to entertain & travel the world! (Especially loved the Orient).

When retirement came, Ms Lewis was ready! She decided to travel the world, and in style she did! Allow me to be your tour guide as we travel back in time as we enter this “unapologetically Black,” historically rich, BRONZEVILLE! household.

*Ask to see the Sportsman’s Park photographs of the winning RACEHORSE that Ms Lewis OWNED! Did you hear me? She OWNED a RACEHORSE!

“Bronzeville!”earned its nickname, “the Black Metropolis,” early in the 20th century as African Americans flocked here from the South during the Great Migration and helped forge a thriving black hub of culture, business and political organizing.

Currently, Ty (husband) & myself reside in Historic North Kenwood, a stones throw from the Historic Bronzeville community. Yuppers! LOTS of HISTORY on the beautiful Southside of Chicago folks. I can personally attest to that! As a child, our family Dr was the famous Dr. Beasley, 35th & Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive, whose office was located upstairs over the now ‘landmarked” Supreme Life building.

The community architecture of choice is the GREYSTONE. Turn of the century Greystones, Brownstones, Red Bricks, & Rowehouses abound. NO WHERE in the US, not even Edith Whartons NY, can boast the incredible beauty and the sheer amount of these vintage delights that dot the Bronzeville cityscape.

While you’re in this part of the city, take a moment and visit the “Southside Community Arts Center, The DuSable Museum, “Virtue,” the award winning restaurant–Ok, tbh, thats Hyde Park, BUT its just down the street. Lol.

“I give my daughter my custom dresses, “she gon’ be litty,” VINTAGE pieces by the time she hit the city, yeah-ah.”~Beyonce
