The Kennon family gathered together and hatched their plan. CHICAGO! Lets go! The family traveled by railway. They arrived to Chicago and disembarked at the now historic depot over by the new Target on Roosevelt and Clark. That was the entry point where millions of many African Americans first stepped foot.

Lawrence E Kennon represented the NAACP, ACLU, Black Panthers, African American Patrolmen's League, Chairman of the Lawyers Committee, His Honor Mayor Harold Washington, Chairmen of the Zoning Board of Appeals, Vice President of the Cook County Bar Association, Counsel to the Pontiac 17, Vanguard Award Winner and the John Paul Stevens Award.

"I used to play hide & seek with mostly my grandfather. I discovered I could crawl underneath the bed in my grandparents room. The very bed available in our estate sale. I remember everyone calling my name, looking for me, as I remained perfectly still while they searched the house. My cover was blown the first time they found me, however, going forward, everyone pretended they didn't know my hiding spot. Years later I discovered the joke was on me! Fond Memories. ~D. Kennon"
