They just set out to live well — and to live surrounded by meaning. No three piece sets from L. Fish for them! Their journey began in the 1970s\, when weekends meant gallery walks\, neighborhood bookshops\, Maxwell Street Flea market (when it was really bumping!)\, and long conversations with artists and musicians whose names were not yet known beyond their communities. They report staying up well into the night armed with Hennessey "White\," laughing\, talking art\, debating politics while listening to Miles weep into his horn as he lamented over losing Cecily. Always fortified with food\, "Pepper Pot" soup was a staple for them in the winter months\, fish\, rice and fruit in the summer. \nThey explained to us the importance of collecting. "Buy only what speaks to you." \nWhat you see in the photos from this estate speaks to folks that know the art of living--and acquiring. They laugh in unison as they recount buying three Johannes Andersen dining chairs at a flea market and driving to St Louis with a trailer hitched to the back of their car to snag the fourth chair. Once they arrived at the country auction\, the husband says in stood on the back wall and his wife stood waaay in the front\, damn near next to the auctioneer. "After every bid she looked at me first to see if she should continue bidding and I just nodded yes until we won. We won that Danish chair!" MCM before it became to mean luxury. Did we mention this is a living estate? \nAs we sat and listened to their wonderful stories of hunting for 1st pressings in basement record shops\, collecting sterling one piece at a time\, and bringing art home by plane... \nThey never considered themselves owners\, simply stewards. Caretakers if you will. Actually we're hearing that term quite often lately. Stewards. Each purchase was acquired carefully. Lovingly. Now its time for their next chapter. And that next chapter begins with YOU. \n \nTy and Lynn McDaniel Owners and Founders of Estate Sale Goddess showcase vinyl records available in the upcoming NEGRITUDE estate. \n \nTy and Lynn McDaniel\, Estate Sale Goddess discuss the importance of collecting Black CHICAGO ephemera. All artifacts shown are available in upcoming "NEGRITUDE" estate sale. \n \nWatch the YouTube feature above as YOUR Estate Sale Goddess interviews MAJOR Bronzeville artist Larry Cope! \n\n\n\n\n	\n\n\n \n	\n	\n \n\n	\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n	\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n	\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n	\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n	\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n	\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n	\n \n	\n\n \n\n\n\n	\n\n\n \n	\n If this is your 1st Estate Sale Goddess estate sale REMEMBER!	\n\n\n	\n\n\n \n	\n	\nABSOLUTELY NO PRESALES. \nDue to time constraints we do not give prices before the sale.\nDo not email\, text\, ring\, or slide into our DMs for prices.\nPlease line up behind the blue line.\nNo RSVP. \nNo tickets.\nNo sign-up sheet-BUT we are contemplating online sign up?\nComplimentary entry.\nFirst come\, first served.\nAddress released here 24 hours before the sale. \n4523 S Drexel Blvd. Bronzeville/North Kenwood Historic District Chicago\, IL 60653 \n\n\n\n\n \n	\n	\n \n \n	\n\n\n	\n\n\n \n	\n	Line up behind the blue line. \n\nEnter through the front door.\nBring help to carry heavy items.\nSecurity will help. $10 MINIMUM TIP!\nAll cards accepted: Apple Pay\, Zelle.\nNO CASH ACCEPTED.\n\n\n\n\n \n	\n	\nHelp us stay green!\nBring your own bags/packaging.\nABSOLUTELY NO CHILDREN PLEASE. \nRespect the neighbors and neighborhood.\nCome!
